Emmanouil is a Greek PhD student at University of Granada (Spain). He got his BSc degree in Geology and Geo-environment at NK University of Athens (Greece), where his research was focused on mineral texture analysis and formation conditions of a hydrothermal ore deposit (Rhodope, NE Greece). He holds an MSc degree from University of Newcastle (UK), where he studied the biogeochemical processes occurring within a cold-water coral carbonate mound system (Rockall Trough, NE Atlantic). Within the ABYSS framework, he will elaborate on abiotic and biotic carbonate mineral precipitation in alkaline environments and his experimental work will take place at Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra (IACT), Granada.
