The Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra (IACT) is a Joint Research Unit CSIC-Granada University (90 scientists/engineers and 45 post docs/PhDs) which has strong expertise in petrology, geochemistry, structural geology, thermodynamics and crystal growth. The IACT is involved in many fundamental research programs (EU FP7, Cost Actions, ESA, Spanish National Research Agency) and collaborative projects with industry.
IACT hosts high performance analytical (XRD, XRF, SEM, EBSD, CS-analyzer, Isotopic-Ration Mass Spectrometry, MicroRaman), ultra-clean radiogenic and stable isotope labs, and state-of-the-art IT-computer, training and videoconferencing facilities. It benefits from Granada University integration/housing/training programs for foreign students and full access to Granada University’s large infrastructures (Titan-HRTEM; SHRIMP-II ion probe).
